…steal my brand new Nikon D850 and Sigma 85mm f1.4 lens today. When confronted, they tossed it into some bushes, where it landed in two pieces on impact. The lens popped off the body, damaging the metal mounting ring. Luckily I have 3 other Nikon cameras, the oldest being a D7100 that just sits on the shelf gathering dust. Nikon has been using the F mount since the film era and all I had to do is switch out the mounting ring. There was no other visible damage, lucky me. This was done just outside of the downtown library. The person who did this is known by the library employees and will be dealt with in the coming days.
Camera and lens still sharp as a tack. I shot these just to make sure there wasn’t any hidden issues with my expensive and delicate instrument…
