Is this Patriotism?


Patriotism to me is volunteering. Either volunteering for military service or in your community. But there are those who think patriotism means merely flying a flag. If that’s your expression of patriotism, at least show an ounce of respect for our flag by flying it properly. It angers me when people treat Old Glory like this. This flag wasn’t being flown properly from the start. And it’s been hanging this way for weeks. Someone attempted to…


…steal my brand new Nikon D850 and Sigma 85mm f1.4 lens today. When confronted, they tossed it into some bushes, where it landed in two pieces on impact. The lens popped off the body, damaging the metal mounting ring. Luckily I have 3 other Nikon cameras, the oldest being a D7100 that just sits on the shelf gathering dust. Nikon has been using the F mount since the film era and all I had to do is switch out the mounting ring. There was no other visible damage, lucky me. Unintentional Selfie


I shoot strictly with Sigma lenses. The Art series lenses allows for fine tuning the focus points by accessing the firmware. I was noticing an issue with the focusing point on my 85mm recently, so I made an adjustment. While testing the adjustment in my well lit bathroom, I happened to notice, in processing the image, my reflection in the mirror, in a perfect bokeh blur…. btw, the adjustment was a success… Continue reading Unintentional Selfie
