Someone on the second floor in an apartment directly above me was cooking and decided to go out and have a smoke. Came back to discover her pan was on fire and instead of dousing the flames, set the pan in the hallway. Causing alarms to go off. Sadly, the alarms in this new construction building are short of alarming, as I was not aware of the commotion until I heard someone banging on a door upstairs. Someone attempted to…
…steal my brand new Nikon D850 and Sigma 85mm f1.4 lens today. When confronted, they tossed it into some bushes, where it landed in two pieces on impact. The lens popped off the body, damaging the metal mounting ring. Luckily I have 3 other Nikon cameras, the oldest being a D7100 that just sits on the shelf gathering dust. Nikon has been using the F mount since the film era and all I had to do is switch out the mounting ring. There was no other visible damage, lucky me. Down and Out
As I walked up the street, this fella was being escorted by law enforcement from an event being held at Wingfield Park. A two day event celebrating Independence Day. Evidently he was being disruptive and was asked to leave the premises. He wasn’t taken into custody, but merely escorted from the area.
