People of Reno – The quickie Weddings

Nevada is not only known for their quickie divorces, but also for their quickie weddings. Saturdays you’ll find many wedding parties at the many wedding chapels in and around the downtown area. Sometimes you’ll find one being officiated on the River Walk near the Virginia Street Bridge.

Dragon Boat Festival

The Northern Nevada International Dragon Boat Festival made it’s way to the Sparks Marina today.  Dragon Boats are an ancient Chinese sport and tradition. Colorful boats feature teams of 20 paddlers synchronized by a ceremonial drummer pounding a rhythmic pulse. The inaugural fest featured all day competitions, vendors, exhibitors, and food trucks.




The Space Whale

The Space Whale, a popular 2016 Burning Man sculpture by artist Matt Schultz, was recently assembled on Reno’s City Plaza for a one year exhibition.  The official lighting ceremony is scheduled for Friday 8/18 @ 8:15 PM.  More photos of the entire assembly process can be found at the following link: https://michelledumont.smugmug.com/Downtown-Reno-Events
